Every year during the summer, Edinburgh becomes the world's most popular city.
The Edinburgh Festival is one of the world's most famous annual festivals of visual art and culture.
From August to September, a number of artistic events, performances and exhibitions will commence throughout the entire city.
Helen, a Journalism student at the University of Westminster has been to the festival several times.
“It was such an unforgettable experience and you always want to come back again and again,” she told mindZgap.
Although Helen has attended four festivals, she is still planning to go there this summer. “It makes you feel that there is always something else happening around the corner which you are missing. There is and you are. This is inevitable, part of the joy of the Festival," she said.
Enjoy yourself!
During the festival, you can enjoy the legendary Great Highland Bagpipe playing and the big performance of Bagpipe bands, featuring bagpipes and various types of drums.
You can drink as much Whiskey as you want on the street, without worrying about being captured by the local policemen, because they are all in your group.
If you do not drink here, you will be the only sober person in the whole city. What a pity! So, just enjoy the whole city revelries over night and night!
However, you should bare in mind that the big festival makes accommodation more expensive and you would have to book ahead. But, it is definitely not something to be missed.
Amazing City
Edinburgh is a fantastic city with great culture, amazing history and good shopping.
Sometimes you may feel you are in a fairy tale when you are going through its old streets or standing outside Edinburgh Castle.
Even if you have a problem meeting people or making friends, you will not find yourself being isolated here.
Nobody has ever heard of Scottish people being unfriendly, toward foreigners.
If you are lucky, you will even be invited to have a drink of whiskey at some of their houses, to a local party and they always were very polite and attentive when giving help.
If you are in the UK in August, this summer you have a best place to go!
